sunburst granny square tutorial

Hello!

Today I have prepared a picture tutorial for Priscilla Hewitt’s Sunburst Granny Square .The written pattern can be found here:

Chain 5. Join with a sl st to form a ring.

Chain 3.

The chain 3 will count as the first dc , work 15 more dc in the ring;

join with a sl st.(16dc). Fasten off.

Attach next colour with a sl st to any dc,

puff st in the same st and in each dc around. Here is how to do the puff st:

Yarn over,insert hook in the st and pull up a long loop

yarn over

pull up another long loop from the same stitch

yarn over again(3 times in total)

yarn over and pull through all remaining 7 loops on hook,chain 1 to lock.

puff st in each dc around,join with a sl st to the first puff st.

fasten off.

Round 3: attach next colour with a sl st to any ch1 space of any puff st,ch2

Now we will be making cluster stitch in each ch1 space

yarn over , insert hook in the st and pull up a loop,yarn over and pull through 2 loops-4 times

yarn over and pull through all 5 remaining loops on hook

ch2

you make the cluster st ,ch2 in each chain1 space all around

join with a sl st to the beginning cluster st.

Round 4;

attach next colour with a sl st to any ch2 space

ch4to count as the 1st trc,2trc in the same sp

3dc in the next ch2 sp

3hdc in the next ch2 sp

3dc in the next ch2 sp

3trc,ch3,3trc in the next ch2 sp

continue this pattern-3dc,3hdc,3dc in the next ch2 spaces and 3trc,chain3,3trc in the next ch2 sp

3trc  as the same sp as beginning trc , ch3 ; join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch4

this is how your square will look like

the following rounds 5-7 are worked as for a regular granny square.
